Beautiful vintage jade bead necklace. Each round jade bead is individually hand knotted between them. I love the feel of real jade, they are so smooth. Cold at first but warm up very fast when worn. They are a deep dark green and have no clasp, they slip over your head. If your crafty, or have a jewelry shop near by that may add a clasp for you.
- approx. measures 14 inches long. 28 inches total around.
- beads are all the same size - approx 3/8ths an inch
- there are 63 beads total
condition is excellent vintage average wear from age. Some of the beads have light dings, crazing, very slight variation in color... you see this often with stones that are almost 80 years old. There is one bead that has a line that looks like a crack, may be a natural age crack. It is not all the way thru the stone. I don't believe it takes away, or is very noticeable when wearing.
-- I acquired them from a lovely lady who got them as a gift at the end of the 1940s. unsure if they are older than that. But 40s seems right, as they have no clasp.
